DESERT MOMENTS • The desert can swallow you whole if you let it. A glittering magic sweeps over and clings to your warm, sticky skin like a fine red dust, wooing you away from the gravity of the real world, inviting you to become one with the stillness. In these small watercolor sketches, the stars are your guide and the cacti your comrades as you wander, wide-eyed and free from it all, through the serene Southwest landscape of my childhood.
“The extreme clarity of the desert light is equaled by the extreme individuation of desert life forms. Love flowers best in openness and freedom.”
― Edward Abbey, Desert Solitaire
