CREATION IN MOTION • After my son Ziggy was born, I felt as though my heart and mind had split wide open and a new, magnificent seed of creativity had sprouted up. I was bursting with artistic energy, and in those first months of his life, I spent all my free-time in the studio painting while wearing my new babe—his squeals of delight influencing my every brushstroke. I joke that all these paintings were made while bouncing and shushing, but it’s not far off from the truth. I had to relax my grip on my brush, embrace the drips and splatters, and stay rooted in the levity of the moment, the magic of mew life, that NEW KID SMELL. These paintings are creation in motion.
