This painting was commissioned for the gallery show Mujeres Fantasîas at Wonderland SF Gallery in the Mission district.  This painting, which I created after spending a month in Oaxaca, Mexico, depicts the amalgamation between the classical representation of the Virgin de Guadalupe and an indigenous virgin Princess prepared for sacrifice. I embedded several symbolic elements, including Agave (fertility), the moon (femininity), the roses (blooming), the white textile (surrender), the ceremonial headdress (power), arachnid necklace (wisdom), and the impending, yet divine storm approaching.  The name is an homage to the Schubert's symphony, "Death and the Maiden," which I saw performed live the same day I saw the ancient remains of a sacrificed indigenous princess.

Commissioned for a client's home in Boulder, CO. This piece was inspired by sunrise photographs of the famous Flatirons taken by the client one early morning in Boulder. Commissioned by a client in Germany who works in Satellite Communications and is involved in space technology. This painting is based on infrared photography of the Horsehead Nebula on the Orion Galaxy.
