MEXICO        Mexico is my romantic escape. My mistress of the South, luring me down with her salty waters and burning sun, her slow days and fast nights.  She is lovely and dangerous-- rich with experiences. I’ve spent many months barefoot on the beach in Mexico, painting the vibrant landscapes, sipping limey cerveza and eating oysters pulled from the sea moments earlier.  I’ve communed with pelicans and cormorants, watched whales dance along the shore on their way up the coast and tiptoed after baby crabs on the beach. I am entranced by the way the sun sets on the sea, creating glassy golden reflections in tidepools and zebra-striped sand.  Every single day in Mexico, I stop to watch the sun set.  Every single day, I am illuminated.
