By giving new life to otherwise discarded objects- bike tires, rims, gears, brake cables, inner tubes, chains and discarded latex paint- I hope to challenge our social views of waste and our disposable lifestyle, even in the eco-minded bike culture. These abstract expressionist, highly sculptural mixed-media pieces literally turn trash into treasure. This series was created specifically for Coffeebar, and I worked closely with the interior designers to echo some of the textures and palate of the interiors, while adding a playful splash to the walls of the clean and modern space. 4’x6’
